Here are Oil and Gas TROI orientation in general:

Tubular : PC-300 ring or RS-102 magnet tag BECAUSE tubular needs reusable to cost justify and also because they do not care after the pipe leaves the yard.
FRAC (or other rental iron) : HD-101 cable or PC-102 metal - band and for small pipes like 2 inch PC-103 cable or BT-1 cable or WoW-2 micro band
For valves : FT-1007( metal tie), TMT-3 tie or RS-102 peel and stick with AO-1 adhesive paint.
RISER stacks: RS-102 peel and stick tag with AP-1 epoxy cover and for flotation embed a CC-71 wire tag.
For leased iron that needs guarantee for life of pipe PC-102 ring
For cages and bins : PC-102 bolted or RS-101 side band
For posts markers and surface tagging RS-102 peel and stick with AP-1 adhesive paint (if needed);
For down hole TROI has imbedable tags that screw in (STI-1 and STI-2).

Basics

Tags are either imbedded into or attached onto the surface of a candidate part.

Imbedded requires both an understanding of the compatibility of the tag material with the encapsulate as well the effect of the solution on the tag tuning. TROI offers tags capable of being imbedded in concrete, wood,plastic, stone, rubber and most construction materials.TROI offers patented and patent pending flexible wire,spring and braid tags.

Unlike the inlay tags used by the majority of current tag suppliers the TROI basic tags are stable to temperature ( -90 F - +400F) , high pressure and humidity. TROI tags follow the 20+ year industry history of using industrial solder connections and special packaged chips. Historically automotive ignition imobilizer tags, animal tags and laundry tags are 100% built this way. Competitor "rugged" tags merely repackage shipping inlays designed for retail. The same Gen 2 core chips are used for each TROI and competitors from Alien, ST, NXP, TI, Impinj others. The difference is that TROI uses packaged solder bonded versions of the chip and competitors use inlay versions with no protection and weaker bonding connections ( flip chip or conductive epoxy for example).

From here TROI tags are packaged to allow convenient attachment and exceptional integrity.

Attached tags require a sense of how to attach in addition to standard mechanical and environmental needs. TROI is the international leader in cable, chain and bar ring tags for pipe and cylindrical products.

I have a Pipe- Where do I start?
Small pipe like scaffolding require a tag that can be added permanently in seconds and last forever.
TROI recommends two types of solutuons meeting both of these requirements.
The TROI Rapid Wrap is a patented coiled industrial plastic containing a MMT-3002 silicone rubber TROI metal mount tag inside. Attachment is as easy as 1-2-3.

The second product choice is a small TROI rubber tag ( dome or rectangular) with dual ties.

Example of Tie Choices
ROI Calc:
Do a simple calculation. Count how long it takes to add a tag to 250,000 pipes. The solution tag better be able to be added in less than 10 seconds (and last forever).
General Vulcanized Rubber Tag forms (rectangular and/ domed)
Medium or Large Pipes
Most solutions for medium to large pipes begin with one of TROI patented or patent pending Rubber tags.
These tags are basically small, medium and large, The shapes are basically rectangular or dome shaped.
The tag can then either be attached directly with adhesive or be attached to a bar or ring.
Additionally the rubber tags come with cables, bars or ties as an integral part of the tag.

Case By Case:
IF: You have a pipe assembly that is moved many times and assembled and reassembled often the TROI recommends the metal bar tag solution.
IF: Your pipe is assembled once and remains then either the cabled versions or diect epoxy attachment can work.
YOUR CHOICE:
First pick the correct size rubber tag and then the type of cable or bar to attach it.

HOW to attach:
To add the tag to the pipe. The Bar tags are either welded or bolted at the ends and the cable tags are crimped with industrial crimps supplied with the cable tag.
Down Hole (Oil)/ High Temp Ceramics, Super High TEmp Teflon
TROI offers a broad series of ceramic based tags that are used as imbeded tag solutions for metal. The metal can be cylinder, pipe, bar, drum etc.
OK 106 ideal tag for imbedding.
Other key tags are the teflon imbedded wire tags capable of extrordinary chemical and heat resistence.
Laundry
TROI flexible tags can be attached or imbedded into garments and survive all institutional maintenance.
While clothes are key applications so are tents, sacks, bags, cords, mats and other assorted fabric industrial tools.
Tags can be sewn in, added with iron on patches, atached with high temp RTV , riveted or other means of attachment.

The tags can be woven into the material or the cords (if they are used).

Tie Wrap Tags

TROI is the global leader in Tie Wrap RFID.

The tags are metal mount design and non metal mount design .

Tie tags are not like most tags when used on certain metal surfaces because for example when being attached to a metal chain fence or metal gate, it may be best to use the non-metal tie tag version because the metal contact with the tag area is less than 20%.

The metal mount versions are required for example when being attached directly to a pipe or rod.

The picture above are stainless steel ties of various lengths ( 6,9 and 13 inches).

This picture show high tensile strength industrial nylon in two widths and lengths. The nylon versions are available as single use and reusable.

A special patent pending solution only offered by TROI particularly useful for security such as "lock out" for industrial applications of anti-theft for jewelry are the TROI braided tags.

These tags attach one end to the part (acts as ground) by tieing or crimping while the other end dangles. ANy attempt to remove the tag from the product destroys the tag,
